The Adult Waiver Program
This behind the wheel driving program is for 18 Years and Older with a Classroom Certificate and Learners Permit.
**PLEASE NOTE: The student must complete the Classroom portion of Drivers ED before they can start the Adult Waiver Program**
Masks are no longer required. However, you can wear one if you wish to.
Although prior experience is not necessary it is beneficial, and the ability to practice in-between lessons is important to the process in learning.
Our Process
- This programs consists of no less than Seven (7) lessons (per State regulation).
- Generally completed within 2-3 weeks (Flexible scheduling).
- Each lesson consists of 50 minutes of driving and 50 minutes of observing the other student driver while listening to the coach’s instruction.
- We will assign an instructor for the 1st lesson (online process) or if a special time is needed, together we can schedule that lesson during a phone call.
- It’s not required, though it is very beneficial to the learning process to have some driving time before and in-between the lessons. If you have not any prior driving experience it is fine, though it may take a little longer.
- Pick up and drop off for most students are mostly from home, school or work if all are within the same public school boundaries.
- The three items we need on the first lesson are:
- Classroom completion card (also known as the Pink Card or DEC 1 card) received upon successful completion of their school’s Driver Education classroom instruction and the parent teen program certification.
- A photo copy of their Learner’s Permit
- Cash, check or money order of $400 for the balance, made out to Aloha Driving (prices are subject to change).
Successful Completion of the Driving Test
- The 7th lesson is the actual driving test. Upon passing, we will issue you an Adult Waiver Certificate that can be uploaded to the DMV here https://dmvmove.dmv.virginia.gov/form/DTS_D_Doc_Upload. You will also need to complete and upload this document https://www.dmv.virginia.gov/sites/default/files/forms/dl1p.pdf at the same time.
- Note: This applicant is still required to have held their learners permit for a minimum of 60 days before submitting paperwork to the DMV.
If you have any other questions or need to request a special time to schedule please call us at 571-201-5299.
